Marine Education Centre Open Day

The bait shed comes alive from 10 am with information and opportunities to learn about the ocean environment on our doorstep. Children love the touch pools. There so much to learn in this tiny building.

Bait House displays and the "touch gently" tank. Get close to lots of marine animals and enjoy a great place to visit.

Visit Our Ocean classroom and see the amazing array of creatures that live below the surface on our south coast. Situated on the eastern point of Island Bay beach, the historic Bait House is now a home to an incredible variety of sea-life. Enjoy the touch tanks where young and old interact with live animals. Get close to a paddle crab or shake hands with the octopus, there is plenty to see and learn at the Island Bay Marine Education Centre.
