Official Opening & Variety Show

The official opening of our 26th Island Bay Festival will follow on directly from the beautiful festival parade.

MC - our very own Rhys Latton as Dr Krakovzarsky will be welcoming our local Mayor, Kaumatua, city councillors and other dignitaries and it will be over to them to open our festival. Then following the prize-giving for the fancy-dress decorated wheels winners there will be a stupendous extravaganza of local talent in the Island Bay Festival Variety Show, as you can see it will be the best ever or your money back.

From 3pm onwards is an opportunity for you to bring a picnic basket, chill with family and friends and enjoy the on stage entertainment.

An assortment of bands and music will be playing to get you in the mood!
